Title:  Spares Planner

Location: Billerica, MA

  Role

Spares planner will manage and monitor all spares activity. They will develop the necessary controls to ensure that inventory is tracked and stocked correctly. Develop pricing models to support our gross margin targets. Monitor On-Time Delivery of spares activity.

 Responsibilities

Spares inventory control and logistics

  • Review consignment location to validate inventory levels
  • Managing the cycle count program of our consignment location
  • Continuous training of our process to our field office locations
  • Review ECO impact analysis and implementation.

 World wide spares planning

  • Stronger analytical skills to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Update Master Production Schedules to support spares forecast demand.
  • Review Historical usage to validate or identify spare items.
  • Review and manage inventory turns
  • Review opportunities for localized sourcing at our consignment locations to reduce overall cost.
  • Develop long term agreements with our spares partners

 Field Service Activity Request and Customer Line Down Support

  • Review daily requests from Field Service (Service Material Authorization Activity)
  • Communicating delivery dates
  • Coordinating open activities with Production and Purchasing to meet open requirements
  • Providing timely feedback to Field Service team

 Refurbishment strategy and execution

  • Develop Third Party Logistics in strategic locations to support logistics, inventory levels and minimize
  • Delivery lead time to our customers.
  • Develop strategy for using refurbished inventory to support warranty activity

 Metrics

  • Monitor OTD to consignment locations and customers SO
  • Monitor Usage at the component level and amount level

 Managing the spares price list

  • Develop price list model to support our gross margin targets for various types of inventory (consumables, company design, commercial)
  • Updating price list for new or ECO items

 Qualifications

§          Associate or Bachelor Degree minimum; APICS certification in production and inventory management (CPIM) desirable

§          5-8 years of prior spares planning experience for complex technical products within an OEM manufacturing operation (experience in electromechanical manufacturing environment preferred)

§          Industry experience within capital equipment planning and configured products desirable (direct experience within the semiconductor equipment industry preferred)

§          Knowledge of MS office products, including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio

§          Good working knowledge of Access or other SQL-based query applications

§          Expert knowledge of ERP systems and MRP/MPS engines
