Title:  Senior Engineering Technician

Location: Natick, MA

Duration: 3-6 months                                                     

 Summary Responsibilities

The Senior Engineering Technician is primarily responsible for assisting the development, test, and transfer of product from R&D into Manufacturing.

 Primary Duties

• Test new products in the development cycle to characterize performance
• Develop and revise Bills Of Material
• Develop and revise assembly procedures and work instructions
• Build, test and troubleshoot assemblies
• Troubleshoot manufacturing processes; improve quality, throughput, and cost
• Sketch and build simple fixtures to assist assembly and test operations
• Assure product is built to meet quality standards
• Maintains hardware supplies on the R&D lab
• Maintains equipment to standardized Preventive Maintenance schedules
• Build electronic cable assemblies per prototype documentation
• Perform debug exercise on system level and component level assemblies

Qualifications & Experience

• 5 years previous experience, at a minimum, in medical device engineering/R&D
• A graduate degree from a US High/Vocational School is acceptable, but an Associate’s Degree in and Engineering Technology, or Certificate from a Technical Institute in mechanics, electronics, is preferred
• A strong mechanical aptitude is required; designing and building production fixtures a plus
• The ability to multitask and work under aggressive deadlines are critical to success
• Must have good English speaking and writing skills
• Must be able to read mechanical drawings
• Must be self motivated and organized
• Must have an ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
