Overview:
-
Develop new
tool capabilities to meet customer requirements is a challenging
and exciting environment for an engineer with an interest in
complex, interacting systems.
-
The
successful candidate must have a background with demonstrated
achievement in the area of design, development, analysis and
testing of precision mechanisms and complex electro-mechanical
systems used in the Semiconductor Equipment Industry.

The
candidate must show examples of using design documentation to
coordinate and track various inputs to a design project,
evaluation of multiple concepts against requirements, and
testing of sub-systems against the driving requirements.

The
candidate must have a proven track record in transitioning new
designs to manufacturing.

The
candidate must be organized, detail oriented and able to work in
a fast-paced environment.

The
candidate will complete individual engineering tasks as well as
provide day-to-day technical leadership to an engineering team
focused on reliability improvements and response to customer
requirements for feature changes. You will be accountable for
development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial
concept through successful manufacturing release.

As part of a
company escalation process, the candidate will participate in
cross functional team meetings designed to address critical
issues and will be accountable for project timelines and
deliverables with weekly updates for any engineering solutions.
You will also be responsible for presentation materials to
update customers on engineering programs.
Responsibility
-
Lead the
effort to define and resolve reliability issues.

Perform
individual design tasks using 3D CAD tools.

Develop and
support system upgrades that require engineering projects
including providing detailed design documentation, associated
Bills of Materials (BOM) and installation procedures.

Provide
technical support for mechanical system issues including the
development of manufacturing and service documentation.

Perform
evaluation and redesign of existing products for cost
improvements.

Generate
customer presentations with periodic updates on critical issues.

Interface
directly with service organization as part of critical issue
resolutions.
Required
Experience
-
BS degree in
Mechanical Engineering, MS preferred.
-
12+ years of
capital equipment design experience with recent lead or systems
engineer role.
-
5+ years of
recent experience with SolidWorks, or comparable CAD package,
including advanced modeling and assembly techniques.
-
Working
knowledge of materials, tolerances, standards, and machine shop
practices.

Ability to
interface effectively with R&D, Manufacturing, and Service
organizations.
